INCHR and African Development Bank Hold Acquaintance and Partnership Meeting to Strengthen Cooperation on Human Rights and Development.

The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) of Liberia has held an acquaintance and partnership meeting with the African Development Bank (AfDB) aimed at fostering mutual understanding, strengthening institutional relations, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in promoting human rights and sustainable development in Liberia.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to introduce their respective mandates, exchange perspectives on areas of shared interest, and explore possible avenues for cooperation in advancing human rights protection, good governance, accountability, and inclusive development.

The INCHR, as Liberia’s national human rights institution, reaffirmed its commitment to protecting and promoting the fundamental rights and freedoms of all persons in Liberia.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of building stronger partnerships between national institutions and international development partners to support initiatives that promote business and human rights, equal opportunities, institutional accountability, and respect for human dignity.

The engagement is expected to provide a foundation for continued dialogue between the INCHR and the African Development Bank, with the aim of identifying practical areas of cooperation consistent with their respective mandates and priorities.

The meeting underscores the Commission’s ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with national and international institutions as part of its broader efforts to enhance human rights protection, promote good governance, and contribute to a more just, inclusive, and peaceful Liberia.
