Executive Director (INCHR)

Mr. Urias Teh Pour currently serves as the Executive Director of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights in Liberia. He played a pivotal role in post- conflict recovery by collaorating with the Carter Center (TCC) as a Legal Advisor for the Rule of Law project. He supported the comprehensive reform of the Justice and Security sectors after a forteen (14) years long Civil War. He also served as a Human Rights Officer for the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Durng the tumultuous era of Mr. Charles Taylor"s regime, he emerged as a resiliant advocate for Youth and students' rights. his advocacy led him to his exile in Accra, Ghana, where he actively participated in the Comprehensive agreement that marked the end of the Civil War in Liberia and the establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

Among his accomplishment, Mr. Urias Teh Pour Spearheaded the creation of the Liberian Action Network on small Arms (LANSA), which facilitated the Disarmment of warring factions. A dedicated Human Rights Lawyer, he earned his Barchelor's degree in Economic (Bsc) and Laws (LLB) from the University of Liberia, and earned his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria. Notably, Mr, Urias Teh Pour continue to shape and uphold the principles of Human Rights, justice and post-conflict recovery in Liberia.
